Overview

The work presents parallel/dual narratives of my father and I in an attempt to discuss the transformations and reflections brought about under the changes in my family within an isolated time frame.

My father, mother, and I all live separately at the moment. I have dinner with my father every week to exchange our life updates. I have gradually come to see that the point of these conversations is not to communicate with each other per se. Instead, they are but a tool through which he can sort out his thoughts, repeating and stumbling over them, finding them regrettable, affirming, or devastating. My replies are simply prompts to continue his conversation. He is in his own space-time, and I know I am in mine; perhaps I am just the same as him.
