Overview
This selection consists of a variety of narratives by a diverse range of photographers, including Thailand’s photo-artist veteran Manit Sriwanichpoom who needs no introduction, as well as mid-career photo-artists such as Miti Ruangkritya, Viriya Chotpanyavisut, Ekkarat Punyatara, Pakorn Musikaboonlert and Piyatat Hemmatat, who are amongst the usual suspects. The works cover issues arising from the current pandemic, socio-political commentary, abstract experimentation, and documentary and conceptual photography
On view are also outstanding works by independent young Thai photo-artists who deserve our attention and continued support: Kamonlak Sukchai, Parn Poparisuth, Ram Kanjanavanit, Harit Srikhao, Kanrapee Chokpaiboon, and Jakkrit Moungpueak.
Through this selection, we aim at providing the Hong Kong audience an inclusive representation of the contemporary photography movement in Thailand–– a photographic community that we believe is active and healthy despite the current hardship.
